What is AWANA?

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  AWANA is a Scripture memory program--in fact the world's largest such program--for children and youth.

But it does not stop at Bible memorization! Through the use of handbook time, game time, and large group time, AWANA seeks to incorporate fun and excitement while teaching children to apply the Scriptures to their everyday lives.

The goal of AWANA is to help children understand the gospel message and trust God as their Savior. AWANA's prayer is for every child around the world to know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Why do I need AWANA?

Training children to know and love God and His word is a responsibility entrusted to parents. AWANA does not replace that responsibility but assists parents in teaching their children by providing a systematic format to learn who God is, why His word can be trusted, and what His word says. The goal of the child's journey through AWANA is to understand God's word and obey it.

When is AWANA?

AWANA will be held on Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:50 pm at Wausau Alliance Church.
